On January 15, a press conference for the upcoming drama “” was held at Nonhyun-dong, Seoul. At the conference, compared his role in the drama “Secret Garden” with his role in “Hyde, Jekyll, Me,” and talked about what he wants to achieve through the new drama.
He started off by saying, “Coming back from the military service, it’s been a long time since I last said hello [to viewers] through TV. When I [received the script] for ‘Hyde, Jekyll, Me,’ I was in the midst of thinking that, after filming ‘The Fatal Encounter,’ I wanted to come back to viewers with a light and cheery drama that people could watch comfortably.”
In the new drama, Hyun Bin’s character has two completely opposite personalities named Goo Seo Jin and Robin. About how he differentiated the two personalities, Hyun Bin commented, “Goo Seo Jin looks like a typical bad guy and Robin a typical good guy. Goo Seo Jin has a sharp personality, and never lets himself look untidy with a slicked-back hairstyle. Robin is more friendly and soft, so he lets his hair down. Goo Seo Jin will often wrinkle his eyebrows while Robin will show his personality through his dimples.”
Hyun Bin already played a double role in drama “Secret Garden,” in which he had to go back and forth between two different personalities. Talking about the difference between his roles in the new and old drama, he confessed that acting as a girl in “Secret Garden” sometimes made him cringe with embarrassment. He added, “At the time though, it was easy. There was [] for me to watch and observe. It wasn’t hard to think of what [to mimic]. So there is a difference in that I don’t have anyone to mimic, and have to express [two personalities] through imagination.”
Meanwhile, the new SBS drama “Hyde, Jekyll, Me” will first air on January 21 at 10 p.m. KST.
