Although it happened ages ago, Shinhwa’s Shin Hye Sung brought up the time when he was forced to change his phone number because Kim Dong Wan revealed it on broadcast.
In a recent recording of jTBC’s Witch Hunt, Shin Hye Sung appeared as a guest, listening to various stories of people who are struggling with romance. One particular story took place in a cellphone store, making Shin Hye Sung share about his own little cellphone story.
Shin Hye Sung said that Kim Dong Wan revealed his cell phone number during a broadcast. Shin Hye Sung added that his phone number consisted of all of his favorite numbers.
However, he was forced to change it after having it for many years, because he kept receiving more than a hundred calls a day with a countless number of text messages from fans.
The incident happened in 2007, when Kim Dong Wan tried to prank Shin Hye Sung and Lee Min Woo on the MBC show Hidden Camera by saying he was getting married. During the show, text messages from Shin Hye Sung and Lee Min Woo went on air without their phone numbers being censored out, causing both Shinhwa members to change their numbers.
The program staff members have apologized for their mistake.
The full episode of Witch Hunt will air on May 30.
