Pop stars often mention that the toughest transition into fame is dealing with the lack of privacy. But perhaps nothing is worse than also dealing with fans 24/7.

Recently it was reported that EXO member Chanyeol was forced to run away from some overzealous fans while walking the streets of Tokyo, Japan. Although it is not clear whether the star was visiting for business or vacation, some would suggest that the running indicated he was not looking to interact with fans during this trip.
One fan on YouTube was appalled by the actions of the fans who were chasing Chanyeol after he began running.
"Justifying the act doesn't make it okay. Whether this girl follows him, or someone in Russia follows him. IT. IS. NOT. OKAY. They deserve private time. They don't need, nor want (clearly) people following them around and doing unnecessary stuff like this. Have some common sense," explained Tatiana Rivera.
According to Koreaboo, some fans are speculating that Chanyeol's visit to Tokyo is related to a statement made by EXO member Lay that he would be shooting a new music video, a possible repackage of recent single "Call Me Baby." Some evidence for this theory is that Chanyeol was followed to Japan on a separate flight by member Sehun.
Whatever the reason for Chanyeol's visit, it would seem that he's looking to be just another person on the street instead of the K-pop idol he's become. Unfortunately for Chanyeol, little can be done about his celebrity status now that EXO has become one of the most popular groups in Asia.
Hopefully with some scolding by other EXO-Ls, Chanyeol and other members will be able to visit different public places without being chased, filmed, and photographed by fans who are too excited to be empathetic.
If not, Chanyeol will just have to keep running.
