March has been all about the girl groups with so many girl groups either debuting or returning with a new album.
Out of several girl groups who have returned to the stage in March, we decided to have Lovelyz and Red Velvet face off as they both debuted around the same time in 2014 (just three months apart) and made their comebacks recently (just two weeks apart).
Despite similar debut/comeback periods, each group carries very unique colors that are quite different from each other.
Lovelyz
Carrying the image of Infinite′s little sisters, Lovelyz finally debuted after rumors of Woollim′s first girl group began floating around a few years ago.
Debuting with Candy, Jelly, Love, Lovelyz really embraced its little sister image and its song title, coming out sweet as ever with an innocent, yet strong presence.
Lovelyz recently returned with Hello, greeting fans from the stage with its bright and positive energy.
Red Velvet
With their colorfully dyed hair and adorable dances, Red Velvet provided good feelings with their debut song Happiness.
Judging from the songs the group has promoted, Red Velvet enjoys experimenting, going for cute but keeping it fierce in the recently released Ice Cream Cake, while bringing out a more sophisticated and even sexy atmosphere in Automatic.
Whatever Red Velvet is doing, it′s working because Red Velvet is quickly rising as a girl crush group.
