MBC′s We Got Married appeased fans′ curiosity when it confirmed its newest couples on March 3, but the announcement also raised a major question: Who is Gong Seung Yeon?
On a quest to find out more about Gong Seung Yeon, we decided to dig around, and here′s what we found.
1. Gong Seung Yeon was an SM trainee
Gong Seung Yeon was training to become a singer under SM Entertainment for many years.
She entered SM Entertainment after winning the ′Best Looks′ portion of the SM Teen Best Contest, later training alongside Red Velvet and f(x) members. She appears to be friends with them even today.
If you search hard enough, you can find pictures of her past SM trainee days under the name Yoo Seung Yeon.
2. Gong Seung Yeon debuted in 2012 as a model for a feminine hygiene CF
We definitely remember when this commercial first aired in 2012, but who knew that three years later, this happy jogger on her magical day would be starring in one of Korea′s longest-running variety programs?
3. Gong Seung Yeon enjoys playing instruments
Not only is Gong Seung Yeon talented and beautiful, she′s also musically skilled (at least through our deduction skills).
On her Instagram, there are several photos of her gayageum, a traditional Korean string instrument. She has also left evidence that she has picked up piano as well.
We hope to see her performing those instruments soon!
4. Gong Seung Yeon starred in 2AM′s music video
Remember 2AM′s Over the Destiny music video, and that girl falling from the sky?
Well, that girl is Gong Seung Yeon. She was falling out of the sky and Yoon Bak ran for his life to catch her.
5. Gong Seung Yeon has appeared in well-known dramas
Gong Seung Yeon′s first major drama appearance was through tvN′s 2012 drama I Love Lee Taeri, starring Park Ye Jin and Kim Ki Bum. She played the character Mimi.
Then in 2014, she acted as Seo Yoon Ji in SBS′ My Lovely Girl starring Rain and f(x)′s Krystal.
Gong Seung Yoon is currently appearing in SBS′ I Heard It Through the Grapevine as Ko Ah Sung′s older sister.
While all of her roles so far have been quite small, we′re certain that she′ll be given more opportunities as she becomes CN Blue Lee Jong Hyun′s onscreen wifey on We Got Married.
