Big Bang is returning as five after three years.
On February 23, YG Entertainment told Newsen, "Big Bang will be the first artist to come out from YG in 2015." The agency added, "The group plans on making a comeback with a new album in April."
Big Bang hasn′t released a new song since Still Alive in June 2012. The group has worked on solo albums, acting projects, and individual promotions, and this will be the first time in three years since the five of them have come together for a new album.
Big Bang recently became the first foreign artist to hold a five-dome concert in Japan for the second consecutive time after holding the Big Bang Japan Dome Tour 2014-2015 X. The five-dome tour took place to celebrate Big Bang′s fifth debut anniversary in Japan, beginning on November 15 and 16 in the Nagoya Dome, November 20 to 23 at the Osaka Kyocera Dome, December 6 and 7 at the Fukuoka Yafuoku Dome, December 20 at the Sapporo Dome, December 25 to 27 at the Tokyo Dome, January 16 to 18, 2015 at the Osaka Kyocera Dome. The group completed 15 concerts with 741,000 fans.
After completing the tour, G-Dragon told the fans, "Last year, we weren′t able to show new stages of Big Bang, so it′s very unfortunate, but we promise to return with a new album in the new year. We won′t make the waiting time go to waste, and the five Big Bang members will return, so we ask for your unchanging love and support."
