According to a report by TV Report, an entertainment news outlet in South Korea, the filmmaker announced his plans to work with the pop star.
"Yifan [Kris's Chinese name] is a good actor," Guo Jingming said addressing a crowd at the Shanghai International Film Festival on June 16. "We haven't yet started on the scenario. Once the project gets started, we will have a discussion. We need time to prepare."
Guo also added, "Our project is going to be quite fun and mysterious. I cant say anything now, but when the time is right, you will find out," according to the Korean new report.
The Chinese director is the mastermind behind Tiny Times, a film series and novel of the same name.
Previous reports from several Chinese news sources, that were based on rumors rather than fact, claimed that Kris had entered into talks to work on Guo's City of Fantasy, a new film based on the director's first book. Claims of the partnership began circulating the internet earlier this month after Kris updated his Weibo account with three 'sun' emoticons then tagged the famed director.
In the meantime, Kris is working through his legal woes after his alleged case against SM Entertainment was sent to mediation by the Seoul Central District Court.
