On June 16, US-based music media outlet FUSE released their list of 2014's best albums (so far) and K-Pop girl group 2NE1 made the cut with their second studio album, Crush.

As the only Korean artist featured on the site's ranking, 2NE1 have come a long way since their reggae-infused electro-pop early days.

"The K-pop phenoms did not disappoint with a slew of forward-thinking, wholly-accessible tracks," wrote the FUSE staff. "Crush proves 2NE1's knack for genre-melding from the start, opening with the title track that blends Indian tabla drums and switchboard-button buzzing, followed by the reggae/trap-hybrid single 'Come Back Home.'"

The four-member group's latest album was released back in February and was primarily produced by YG Entertainment's resident songwriting producer and former 1TYM member, Teddy Park.

2NE1 leader, CL, lent a hand at writing lyrics for many of the album's songs, including her solo track "MTBD."

In addition to CL's song, FUSE highlighted "Come Back Home," "Baby I Miss You," and "Gotta Be You" as the stand out tracks from Crush.

"Crush broke the record for the biggest first-week sales for a K-pop album in America. The set hit No. 61 on the Billboard 200—also breaking the record for the highest-charting K-pop release," added FUSE writer Jeff Benjamin.

The FUSE recognition comes just over a week before 2NE1 is scheduled to release a Japanese version of Crush. The record will go on sale June 25 and will be available in four different versions.

2NE1 join pop music legends Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey in FUSE's list of this year's best albums, as well as many other popular world stars like Pharrell Williams, Coldplay, and the Black Keys.
