The songstress just celebrated her 21s t birthday this past Friday and her fans responded with a delightful birthday gift - making her newest song number one in the country.
As of May 19 (KST), IU's "My Old Story" had swept all of South Korea's major music charts in addition to scoring first place on the weekly iChart on Instiz, making her latest release the proud distinction of a 'Perfect All-Kill.'
Earlier this month IU teamed up with rookie idol group HIGH4 for their debut single "Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms," a fun tune that soared to the top of the charts.
Last year she released her third studio album, Modern Times, and saw an all-kill with the title track "The Red Shoes." And since her debut in 2008, she has had a dozen number one singles to her name.
IU plans to continue celebrating her latest comeback with a solo concert later this week. She will perform a series of intimate shows at Sogang University Hall starting on Thursday. IU is scheduled to perform May 22-25 and again May 29-June 1.
