Taeyang has proven he has no problem standing on his own. His latest
solo endeavour, "Rise", has been ranking at #1 domestically. However,
his popularity isn't limited to Korea's borders.
According to the prestigious Billboard's 200 chart, Taeyang's new
album "Rise" is the third highest k-pop album on the chart. He was
reportedly at #112 on June 12th, which trails behind only two other
k-pop acts: 2NE1's "Crush" at #61 and Girls Generation's "Mr.Mr." at
#110.
This is higher than any release of Taeyang's original group Big Bang
or his fellow group member G-Dragon's solo releases. G-Dragon's solo
albums "One Of A Kind" and "Coup D'eta" ranked at #161 and #182,
respectively.
Additionally, Taeyang is number one on the Billboard's Heatseekers
Album chart and Billboard World Album chart.
