Korean Entertainment Management Association expresses its stand on Eunjung's removal from 'Five Fingers'

The Korean Entertainment Management Association (KEMA) expressed their position regarding the unilateral notice of termination from the drama production company which was received by T-ara's Eunjung a few days ago.

KEMA published released their article titled "Opinion on the Unreasonable Unilateral Breach of TV Drama Contract" on the 23rd of August.

Through the said article, the association stated, for the success of Five Fingers, Eunjung had given up other activities, including overseas activities, showing their sincerity to fully participate in the drama production, but the production team of "Five Fingers" on the 21st, requested with no legitimate reason, that Eunjung leave the drama on her own accord, mentioning that if she did not comply with the request, they would put pressure on Eunjung and her agency.

Eunjung's side did not understand this, and requested for a reason for withdrawal, but the production team only referred to the modification clause of the contract stating that the situation was not in the best interests of the drama production.

KEMA also stated " If it is necessary to change the cast during drama production, it should be be discussed with the actor with mutual understanding as the goal, but the production team and SBS on the 22nd did not relate any information to Eunjung about her withdrawal, but announced her termination through the media. Through various evidence and proof, this association has verified and is shocked by this oppressive act of the production team".

KEMA said " This association works to improve the practices of drama production and to develop a healthy industry by eradicating old practices. Therefore, from a few years ago, starting with the problems of unpaid acting fees, this association has worked to improve such unreasonable contracts and practices.  Such efforts can been seen in the 'Drama Production Standard Acting Contract' project developed along with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism".

They concluded it by stating " We will advocate for Ham Eunjung's rights to restore her reputation as she has been unreasonably harmed as described above. To ensure that all relevant parties in this incident will not be harmed, we anticipate the drama production team's reasonable solution".

Producer of 'The Thousandth Man' expressed his thoughts about Eunjung's departure from 'Five Fingers'

Expressing his thoughts about Eunjung's departure from the drama 'Five Fingers', here is producer Kim Taeyeon who tweeted, " To drama producers, issues of production sponsorship, PPL and the likes are no doubt important, but to tamper with the drama's plan for these issues is not the way. A production that succeeds relying on despicable things, is very muddled. Although the production sponsorship for 'The Thousandth Man' is zero ㅠ I will not give up. Money is something that you will have when you work harder".

Mr. Kim is the producer of T-ara Hyomin's drama ' The Thousandth Man' and he is also the CEO of Contents Media Group.

Prior to this, it was reported that T-ara's Eunjung has been removed from the cast of 'Five Fingers'.

T-ara Hyomin will attend the PressCon of 'The Thousandth Man' on August 14th

T-ara's Hyomin is set to make her first public appearance after the controversy that surrounded the group during the past weeks.

Hyomin will be appearing on the Production Press Conference of her upcoming drama titled 'The Thousandth Man' which will be held on August 14th at MBC Dream Center in Ilsan.  Aside from Hyomin, other cast members like Kang Ye Won, Lee Chun Hee, Jun Mi Sun, Seo Kyung Suk, Park Jung Hak, and Infinite's Woohyun are also expected to attend the event.  Though MBC has also pointed that things could change last minute as the attendance list may change depending on their filming schedule.

'The Thousandth Man' which is a fantasy drama about a nine-tailed fox (gumiho) who needs to eat the livers of 1,000 men in order to become a true human being will start airing on the 17th of August.
