With TMZ’s tasteless video mocking EXID Jung Hwa’s English, fellow K-pop artists have publicly put TMZ’s actions on blast.
On May 3, f(x)’s Amber wrote on her Twitter, “I was gunna stay quiet but I cant. Seriously, @tmz not cool man. All Americans face palm at your rude and childish actions.”
Roy Kim retweeted Amber’s post, adding his own comment of, “Amen to this.”
Then on May 4, 2PM’s Taecyeon also retweeted Amber’s post, writing, “Don’t they know that when you make fun of someone for having a strange accent, that person can perfectly speak another language? The mentality to make fun of someone who answered in English because she went to the U.S and was greeted by many fans. Seriously, wow.
U.S gossip platform TMZ posted a video of EXID arriving in Los Angeles for an event. The outlet interviewed Jung Hwa, only to have the staff make fun of her accent in a later part of the video.
