There are plenty of idol girl groups out there but only a handful of them have been acknowledged by other parts of the entertainment world through drama OSTs.
The Girls’ Generation members prove that they’re not just a group of girls who sing and dance on stage, but they also have the ability to move the heart by singing in dramas.
While it may not be all nine of them belting it out for these dramas, here are the members who made their names known in the drama world.
Seohyun
Now flaunting her vocals through her musical, Seohyun has previously shined as a drama OST artist as well. .
She’s sung for the history drama, Kim Soo Ro as well as Fashion King, which we’re guessing she took part in to support her fellow member Yuri, who was starring in the drama.
We often forget what a talented singer Seohyun is, but luckily we’re reminded through these OSTs, so hopefully she’ll continuing letting her voice shine through dramas.
Jessica
Jessica’s also had her share of drama OSTs, even singing for her own drama, Wild Romance.
Jessica has also let her crystal clear voice heard in the dramas, Romance Town, The King’s Dream, and Cyrano Dating Agency, which Sooyoung starred in.
She’s done a drama OST every year since 2011, so we’re pretty sure we’ll hear her pretty little voice in 2014 too.
Sunny
We were quite surprised to find out that Sunny has only sung for a drama once.
Sunny’s voice was featured in the drama The Queen’s Classroom, singing about the hardships faced by the young students who were forced to learn valuable lessons due to a strict teacher.
Let this only be the beginning to many more drama OSTs for Sunny.
Tiffany
Tiffany is another member who should be singing more drama OSTs.
For what her voice brings, Tiffany has only sung for three dramas – Ja Myung Go, Love Rain, and All About My Romance, all of which she delivered perfectly for each drama.
She has complete potential to get her name out there as a queen of the drama OSTs, so we hope to hear her voice more in dramas.
Taeyeon
It would be just silly of us to not include her on this list, since Taeyeon was the one who shot to fame through drama OSTs.
She’s sung for Hong Gil Dong, Beethoven Virus, Athena, That Winter, the Wind Blows, The King 2Hearts, To the Beautiful You and a lot more that we’re forgetting to put on this list.
A good majority of her songs are hailed as huge successes, ranking number one charts many times and being played in stores everywhere in Korea.
It was through these songs that Taeyeon is now named as one of the queens of drama OSTs.
